George Krapf, Jr. & Sons, Inc.

has been transporting students to and from school since 1942, when George Krapf, Jr. was approached by the Twin Valley, PA, School District and asked if he would be willing to operate and maintain their first ever school bus. Because of his experience and skill in vehicle maintenance and operation and because he was such a respected member of the community, the school district leadership felt there was no one else more qualified to handle the responsibility of transporting their children to and from school.  More than seven decades later, George Krapf Jr. and Sons still serves Twin Valley, as well as eight other school districts.

Mountain Valley Transportation, Inc.

was formed in 2009, as a division of Krapf School Bus and as a result of the decision by the Roanoke City Public School Board to outsource their transportation services. The decision to select Krapf from among several student transportation providers was made after a thorough evaluation process. Mountain Valley became the Commonwealth of Virginia’s lone outsourced student transportation provider – a distinction it still holds today. Because this decision has proven highly beneficial for Roanoke City, it recently extended their contract with Mountain Valley for another five years.

Red Lion Bus, Inc.

has been serving Central Pennsylvania since the early 1940s, when the concept of using a bus to transport tobacco laborers to and from cigar-making enterprises was then applied to student transportation. In 2010, more than 70 years since their respective beginnings, Red Lion Bus and George Krapf Jr. & Sons, Inc. united. Wanting to retire, the owners of Red Lion Bus sold their business to Krapf, confident that excellence in pupil transportation would continue and the “family” atmosphere would remain. Red Lion Bus serves four school districts.

Stafursky Transportation, Inc.

was acquired by the Krapf organization in 2008. It is located in Archbald, PA, a small borough of about 7,000 residents in the heart of the Pocono Mountains. Company roots stretch back to the early 1970s, when Amabile and Probst Bus Company first hit the road. This group served several small towns in the area until 1990 when they sold their company to the Stafurskys. Many of the Amabile employees are still with the company, which operates nearly 40 school bus routes from its Archbald facility.
